I just received a replacement MagSafe Charger for my MacBook. The last one I just had replaced was luckily under 1 year warranty, but the fact it failed within a year is concerning (especially at ~$70 a pop). I was looking around for some ways to reinforce these things so they don’t break as easily (fraying mostly on the ends).
I stumbled upon a post http://sugru.com/guides/how-to-repair-a-laptop-charger, and thought it may be a good solution – I’m going to try it out next week. Essentially you put some putty around the ends that relieve some of the tension (chargers have a hard life) on the ends where it tends to break. Hope it may help others; let me know if you have better alternatives.
